A self employed design consultant and photographer, based on the South Coast in Hastings, with have about 20 years experience working in London, Brighton and Liverpool, I mostly work in the retail design sector - but also teach, write and make things.
Despite being highly qualified, I rejoice in spectacular underachievement. The internet allows me to work from a home studio and spend plenty of time in my garden and walking my dogs, rather than commuting and sitting in airless design studios in the more fashionable shit-holes of London and Brighton.
I could be described as morose, opinionated, over sensitive and self absorbed, but I prefer witty, rakish and possessing a sparking wit. My darker sense of humour buffers me from the aching, yawning, void that is modern life, and protects me from the side of popular culture that is crass, vapid, shallow and empty. Despite all that, for some odd reason I'm actually a very happy individual - who most people seem to quite like.
I am a committed atheist, professional Northerner with a huge chip on my shoulder and limited patience, but I much prefer people who believe in something - rather than nothing at all. I can't do small talk, fail miserably at networking and have learned the hard way that most people just want to fuck you over, specially in my industry.
I like French films, social history, counter culture, Francis Bacon and the natural world.
Many years ago I used to be a punk, but then I grew up and left home.
